For most young football players it's their dream to make it to the NFL. The 23-year-old, San Francisco 49ers running back Glen Coffee had made that dream a reality, but has now decided to retire heading into what would've been his second season.

Glen Coffee's career

Glen Coffee attended the University of Alabama where he played for three years. Coffee was not very effective his first two years as the Alabama running back due to not seeing much playing time. Coffee would introduce himself to the football world in his Junior year, in which Coffee rushed for 1,383 yards and 10 touchdowns and averaged 5.9 yards a carry, added with 118 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Coffee would later announce that he would forgo his Senior season and declare himself eligible for the 2009 NFL Draft. Coffee would later be drafted in the third round by the San Fransisco 49ers with the 74th overall pick.
