The concept of politics is rather simple. You have a group of people and they wish to have leader. They pick someone out of the crowd, someone the majority agree will do the best job.
This leader’s job is to create infrastructures and provide services for the public who choose him. People pay taxes and this money goes towards everything related to providing these services.
This was probably the initial idea, but things never really go according to plan when people are involved doesn't it.
